Arts Westchester Project

The Neighborhood House was awarded a 2017 Arts Westchester matching grant to support "Artists' Chairs for Public Spaces".  The  Senior Art Workshop, with instructor Chris Blatt, have purchased Adirondack chairs and are in the process of decorating them in different ways; floral design, patriotic, historic.  These chairs will be donated to locations around the community.  The seniors are very proud to display their work and to contribute something to their own community.  We already have letters of support from the Villages of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, Warner Library (a proposed children's garden)and we have several student groups in Sleepy Hollow Middle and High School who are enthusiastic.  In addition to the Arts Westchester grant, this project is supported by a grant from the Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation.  Some of the chairs will be on display at the
Neighborhood House May fundraiser at the Tarrytown Senior Center.
