Programs Open to Residents of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow
       
ACTIVITY MEETS Time DESCRIPTION
Art Workshop Wednesday 1:00-3:00 PM Senior Art Workshop. All levels welcome. Combination of open sessions w/ occasional visiting artists and teachers.
Bridge/Cards Club Friday 1:00-3:00 PM Bridge/Cards Club. Informal gatherings of foursomes who meet weekly.  Refreshments.
Computer Class Tuesday 11:00 AM-
Noon
Computer Class. Small scheduled groups for all levels. 4-week sessions. Call to register. Classes start in October. Instructors are members of WESKUG Computer Club, which meets at 1:00 p.m., on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of each month. New members welcome.
Computer Class Thursday 10:30-11:30 AM Computer Class.  Small scheduled groups for all levels. 4-week sessions. Call to register. Classes start in October.
Exercise (50+) Friday 11:30-12:15 AM Fit Over 50 - Exercise to Music with a YMCA instructor. Come and enjoy an aerobic work-out designed for seniors. 
Going On Tuesday or Thursday 10:15-11:45 AM Going On. Developing coping techniques to deal with major life changes, e.g., major illness, death in family, adjusting to retirement, etc.
Line Dancing Wednesday 10:30 AM- Noon Line Dancing. Fun and informal. Share your favorites. Call first, to confirm.
Movie Afternoon Friday 1:00 PM start Movie Afternoon. Come watch classic movies and new releases.  Refreshments served.
Personal Writing Tuesday 1:00-3:00 PM Personal Journal Writing with Natalie Safir. Learn techniques for putting your memories and experience into a lasting form that will be cherished by family and friends.
Senior Canteen Thursday 1:00 PM start Senior Canteen.  Social, Bingo, refreshments, speakers. New members welcome.
Sewing Group Wednesday 1:00 PM start Sewing Group.  Group makes bandages for cancer care patients at Rosary Hill.
T'ai Chi Tuesday 3:30-4:45 PM Fit Over 50 - Beginning T'ai Chi with Robert Chuckrow, Ph.D. 7-week sessions. Registration limited. Fee $64. ( 50% discount for 65+)
 
Other groups meeting at The Neighborhood House:  Tarrytown & Sleepy Hollow Arts Council, Girl Scouts, SAT Prep Classes by the Kumon Math & Reading Tutoring Center.
WESKUG: Westchester Kaypro Users Group, was founded in the mid-1980s. Kaypro computers were one-piece machines based on the CPM system, one of the first personal computers in use. The club has been continuously functioning since then, meeting on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of each month of the school year. It discusses various PC computer subjects, exchanges knowledge and helps members solve their computer related problems. All are welcome to come to the Neighborhood House at 1 pm on meeting dates; email us at which@bestweb.net.
